Sweet and Gentle Tuttle
About Tuttle

Tuttle is a 70 pound, almost 2-year-old Cattle Dog/Staffordshire Terrier mix. Tuttle just joined SVPP a short time ago, so we are still learning about him, but he is doing amazing and will soon be ready for adoption!
Tuttle was picked up as a stray and landed in the shelter in October, 2021 when he was just a year old. This sweet Staffordshire Terrier/Cattle dog mix exhibited the stress and anxiety to be expected of a puppy in a large, scary shelter. In November 2021, Tuttle became one of the first @sjanimalshelter dogs to take part in our new Dog Day Out project, run by volunteers Julie and Kevin. Over the months that followed, Tuttle became a favorite of shelter and DDO volunteers alike. He travelled all over the Bay Area on his outings with Kevin and built up his social skills on leash and in public spaces. Thanks to the dedicated shelter volunteers and his DDO partner, Kevin, Tuttle's mental health remained strong, even as he was continually passed over for adoptions. Finally, experienced SVPP foster Dave and his blind pitbull, Golly, were ready for a new foster pup, so at long last, Tuttle got out of the shelter! This sweet boy is learning that the world can be quiet, loving and happy as he settles into home life. Tuttle's friend Kevin and foster dad Dave -- aka Team Tuttle -- will continue the work to get this deserving boy ready for his forever home!
