Sweet baby boy, Tater, was left at the @sanjoseanimalcarecenter at just 2 months-old. A longtime employee had planned to adopt him, but a sudden health crisis prevented this from happening. The shelter reached out to SVPP, and with the help of foster dad Dave and SVPP alum, Golly, Tater made a soft landing into a wonderful foster home, where he practiced his leash skills with Kevin (SVPP large dog volunteer and founder of Coffee Companions) and grew in confidence (and size!).
Today, Tater is home with his new mom and grandmom, who shared their deep love of pittie dogs with SVPP and their readiness to give Tater the best possible life as a San Francisco city dog!
If you are ever out at the Presidio or Chrissy Field and you see the most handsome, friendly Pit Bull in the world, be sure to stop by and say "Hi" to Tater :-)
